Oakstone Lodge is such a comfortable, welcoming retreat site with ample workstations for 14 sewists and extra tables that could be made available. This retreat included 14 KPQG members and two guests and was rich with creativity, camaraderie, consulting, and even counseling (if you need it). The richness extends to the culinary as well, with brunches, dinners, and innumerable snacks provided by the participants.
Strolling around the room, you would have seen four paper-pieced projects in the works, beautiful hand embroidery with coordinating quilt blocks being added, panels with added blocks, a stitcher experimenting with reverse applique', a set of "onesie" quilts being made for twin granddaughters, a tidy pile of 2.5" squares vs. a bag or crate of stash, some stitchers with kits, others cutting from yardage, very large and very small projects, quilts featuring cows, cats, and bunnies. What a fun assortment of creativity!
The dates for two more retreats in 2026 at Oakstone will be announced at our guild meeting. Think about signing up!
