March 2025 Show and Share

It's evident that some stitching has been going on during those snowy, winter days. I never ceased to be amazed at the talent in our guild.

-Alison McCullough shared the LOVE quilt that she had displayed in her home during February. She also made a puzzle quilt...but wait...there's a piece missing.  Drat, that always seems to happen when you are putting together a puzzle.  "Not to worry," says Alison as she opened the quilt backing with the missing piece.

-Dona Koster showed this beautiful quilt designed by Aie Rossman. Dona created "Affairs of the Heart" using batiks on a black background. Her workmanship and the quilting have made this an exquisite work of art !

-Elaine Shannon shared a trio of floral collage quilts from patterns designed by Laura Heine. After "Seed Pods," "Hummingbird," and "Vases," she is finished with collage for awhile.

-Lori Gray was a co-chair for the 2024 BOM, but was not satisfied to complete only 12 blocks of the "Be My Neighbor" pattern. She finished up all 15 blocks in complemetery colored fabrics that are uniformly quilted using a row-by-row quilt-as-you-go technique. This wonderful neighborhood will be a welcoming display in her home!

-LuAnn Hoover also shared her 2024 BOM quilt and followed the quilt-as-you-go strategy as she added rows.  Lu named her quilt "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" as a tribute to Mr. Rogers.

-Nancy Rezac is a new member who jumped right in with showing a quilt that she created using scraps from sundresses that she has made for her granddaughters. Seeing each fabric again brought back loving memories of the girls at different ages. Nancy is donating this quilt as a Quilt From the Heart for our philanthropic project.

-Pam Russell's "Great Garden Sampler" is another fantastic example of Pam's skill at needle turn applique' and hand quilting.  What a beauty!

-Patty Nelson's quilt is "Floral Wonder" by designer Yoko Sato. This wool applique' on homespun with scalloped border evokes the beauty of a Japanese garden. Zoom in to note the detailed quilting on this lovely quilt.

-Phyllis Norton treated us to three quilts, two of which were in celebration of the birth of her twin great-grandsons! Each little guy will receive a sports-themed quilt of either fishing or hunting. Phyllis also shared a scrap quilt "Buck-eyed Beauty" with so, so many tiny pieces. Wow!
