Konza Prairie Quilters' Guild

Barb Krieg of Shawnee, Kansas, presented the guild with an alternative quilting technique.  Barb's expertise is with Quilt as You Go, the point of which is to build a complete quilt in manageable pieces so that quilting can be done on a domestic machine.  As you can see in the photos, quilts from small table toppers to full sized quilts were shown with explanations. The key to this technique  is the use of joining strips in addition to sashing, thus completing the front and back simultaneously.  What a wonderful idea for those who want to complete the entire projects on a small machine!

During the afternoon workshop, guild members were able to create their own small quilt using the Quilt As You Go technique.
