Konza Prairie Quilters' Guild

March 13 Program:  Mini-Workshops and Sewing Treasures Raffle

The March meeting was a time of sharing skills with three KPQG members demonstrating "How to..." projects.  Melody Day provided suggestions for skillfully using English Paper Piecing to enhance one's quilts, either as an accent or for complete blocks. Barbara Wright created a nifty cell phone stand that is portable and keeps your phone is the desired position for hands-free talking or watching quilting YouTube instructional videos. Vevia Beaulieu re-introduced members to the art of using Canopy with Registration Marks to add dimension and interest to a quilt. We have such talented guild members!

Guild members were also encouraged to bring gently used sewing treasures for a guild raffle.  Hopefully, all found an item or two or three to enhance their fabric stash or sewing accessory collection.

Betty Frank was ready to entice additional guild members to participate in this year's "Threads and Treads" quilt challenge.  Be sure to sign up and select a fat-quarter from Betty's collection which must be incorporated into your quilt.  Quilts will be due at the August meeting, so don't wait too long to get started. Members can access the full instructions by logging in and going to the Challenge Quilt page.
